Tattoo removal lasers come in a wide range of performance, features, configuration and price. Ultimately your choice will probably be governed by the predicted return on your investment. Cambridge Stratum is able to supply a machine to meet any budget and provide excellent value for money.
The factors to consider when purchasing a tattoo removal laser;
Pulse width and peak power
All tattoo removal lasers are fast pulsed lasers but they vary tremendously from 50ns pulse duration for a passive Q switched laser, to 300ps for our top of the range pico second laser. Currently our range has 5 steps 50ns, 10ns, 6ns, 1ns and 300ps. In general the shorter the pulse duration the better the machine and the higher its price.
Shorter pulse durations result in higher peak power but lower total energy in the pulse, which results in less heat being conducted into the surrounding tissue.
Which colours do you need to treat
The most common colours are black, dark blue and red and any of our machines will treat these colours.
For treating the widest range of colours we recommend either machines that can accommodate dye tips or our 1000ps and 300ps lasers.
Light pipe or hand gun
Light pipes where the laser beam is delivered through a tube and a series of mirrors within the tube, enable a lighter more nimble treatment head. They are also better suited to the addition of dye tips for treating a wider range of colours.
These machines tend to be larger and more expensive. If you have the space and budget they would generally be the preferred option.
